Gabby is a beautiful, approximately 3-year-old Bernese Mountain dog. Emre was made aware that this girl was being kept at a boarding facility in less-than-ideal conditions so he picked her up and brought her to the Garden. She arrived at the Garden severely underweight and Emre noticed that she had loose bowel movements. Gabby has had routine and advanced lab work done plus an abdominal ultrasound. We believe that Gabby has pancreatitis, but despite all of the testing, we don’t know the exact cause of her pancreatitis. At the Garden she has received antibiotics, probiotics and special food. Despite some of the uncertainty surrounding her condition this little lady has gained weight at the Garden and she looks great. She is now up to 65 pounds! Emre describes her as a player who loves attention. We hope to bring Gabby to Canada where we can do advanced testing and imaging. We will share Gabby’s detailed medical record with her potential adopters/fosters. * Gabby is named after Gabriola Island (often referred to as the Isle of the Arts). It is one of the Gulf Islands, located about 5 kilometers east of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. *** PLEASE NOTE *** The blue fence is 33.5†tall for height reference.
