Chance has been through a lot in his short life. He is estimated to be around 1-2 years old, weighs around 40 lbs and is as sweet as can be. He found himself at the San Antonio Animal Control facility with injuries likely sustained from a car accident a week or two before his arrival. When we saw pictures of Chance we knew we needed to step in and help him. He had a shattered pelvis and underwent an extensive surgery to repair it along with a rear right leg amputation. This boy had a strong will to survive from the very beginning and we are searching for his perfect home that will help make up for the rough start in life he's already had. Before and immediately after surgery Chance had trouble controlling his bowel movements, but he has come a long way in a short amount of time! He knows that he is supposed to potty outside and he has not had any peeing accidents since his first day with his foster. Chance's stools are firming up and he mostly has control of going #2. Some days he wakes up with a few little marks on his bed, but in general he is able to hold in his stool. Chance is looking for an adopter that understands that he may never regain complete control of going #2. We are cautiously optimistic that he will continue to improve, but he deserves an adopter that will love him just the way he is. Chance is currently in a foster home with a large property, numerous dogs and a cat. He is the recipient of lots of affection and he loves to run and play with his new canine friends. Chance is also very interested in the cat, but in a curious "Can we be friends?" way. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped.
