Bobbie and Freddie were owner surrenders to a shelter in Texas. They are now in a foster home in WA state. They were originally believed to be a bonded pair, but after getting to know them we think that they are able to be adopted separately. They are three years old, neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Please see below for their individual health histories. They are currently in a home with multiple (predominantly larger) dogs and they have had no issues. They both met a cat at the vet's office without issue. They have learned to scratch on the sliding glass door when they need to go out. They are currently on a low fat diet to prevent urinary symptoms. They bond quickly and exhibit some separation anxiety when their "person" is away so they are looking for a home where their family is home most of the time. ***** Bobbie is 3 years old and weighs approximately 18 pounds. Bobbie tested positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne illness. He is currently on antibiotics and is expected to make a full recovery. Bobbie is extremely gentle and more cautious and patient than his brother. Bobbie enjoys playing with a smaller puppy in his foster home. ***** Freddie is 3 years old and weighs approximately 17 pounds. Freddie has had a thorough cardiac workup. He has a dysplastic (malformed) tricuspid valve in his heart that has led to right sided heart failure, pulmonary artery hypertension and volume overload. His heart failure is severe and his lifespan is expected to be severely shortened. Surgery is not needed and we are trying to manage his symptoms with a couple of medications. Because of his heart issue he is looking for a calm home that can limit his activity. He is the more independent of the two and usually does not engage in play. He is not timid and carries himself in an "I'm in charge" manner. He has gone on a couple of outings and does great out in public and away from his brother. Freddie is unable to fly so preference will be given to adopters in the Pacific Northwest /within driving distance.
