Stanley is as sweet and loving boy who had a rough life before coming to the Garden. He was found with a cut on his head that was infested with maggots and evidence or prior bite wounds. Emre took him under his protection and he has been nursed back to health. Emre is very proud of the fact that Stanley gained over 10 lbs during his stay at the Garden! * Stanley is currently being fostered on Vancouver Island, where he has slowly been decompressing from his journey. He is still a bit unsure about the world around him and he is cautious of vehicles, loud noises and sometimes, going too far from his home base on walks. For Stanley to thrive, we are looking for a home where he would be the only dog. He is still learning that he doesn't have to protect his resources from other dogs anymore. Being the only pup will allow him to relax and let his guard down. His future family should also be patient and compassionate, as he learns that it’s ok to let his walls down and trust at his own pace. Adopting Stanley will be worth it though, because when he gives you his paw, which he will do lovingly, your heart will melt. His sweet, soulful eyes will capture your heart. Stanley loves to be brushed and has a small chew toy that he likes to squeak. He also loves to cuddle in bed with his foster mama! Witnessing his playful side as he rolls on his back in the grass will surely fill your heart with joy and love. He has so much love to give and so much love to gain. * Stanley is named after George Stanley who designed the current Canadian flag AND for the Stanley cup, the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion. *** PLEASE NOTE *** The blue fence is 33.5†tall for height reference.
