Iris has been through so much for such a young girl. She has experienced the harsher side of humans and life on the streets, having to fend for herself and watch her back. Understandably she can be cautious in some situations and has some resource guarding tendencies, yet she also adores her people and has a lot of love and affection to give. Iris is searching for a home all her own with someone who can provide her with the love and compassion she longs for, who also can lead her with confidence and is dog savvy. She dreams of having a yard to play and sunbathe in, but also would love to join you on adventures in nature where she can walk alongside you, taking in all the magic of her new environment. Iris is a smart girl who likes to learn and would benefit from professional, positive reinforcement and compassionate training. Her new family should have experience with dogs who have had trauma in their past and are willing to work with her to gain her trust and support her as she lets some of her walls down. She would do best in a home without children or cats. All though she would be content to be an only dog. Iris does well in her foster family that includes 7 other dogs. She needs a family that is dog savvy when introducing new dogs. She does best with male dog’s. Iris is being fostered near Bellingham Washington. Applicants would preferably be located within driving distance. *** PLEASE NOTE *** The blue fence is 36†tall for height reference.
